Synopsis
Everyday critical cardiac care units greet workers, patients, and their loved ones with the social calamity of business, office, and family politics compounded with the volatile nature of life-or-death situations. In a prestigious modern hospital, seven such people find their lives changed forever in varied and unpredictable ways.
Mutual roommates Tom and Michelle awake on their first day as the unit’s new cardiovascular technologists, approaching the hospital with a sleepy-eyed optimism. The pair is soon split, however, testing their clinical abilities as individuals. Mike is a physician nearing the end of his interventional cardiology fellowship, attempting to establish himself, despite the pool of up-and-comers and big names already present. Bradley Lindemann is a doctor famous for his skill and innovation worldwide, and for his roaring temper hospital-wide. Anthony is a researcher who visits from abroad to shadow the force of nature that is Bradley, as he barrels through heart cases from early morning to late night. Barry and Marcus are brothers visiting their convalescent mother for the first time, as she recovers from the heart attack they missed while out the previous night.
As the day progresses, each person experiencing life in the unit is impacted by the events which unfold, revealing the things which define them - to each other and to themselves.
